Face to Face with Jesus: A Series During Lent and Easter

We often utilize the seasons of Advent and Lent at Grace Church as opportunities to teach about the events and implications of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. The following is a brief announcement and outline of our plans to remember the person and work of Jesus and to anticipate Easter Sunday at Grace Church this year.

During the Sundays between now and Easter, we have planned sermons on selected passages in John’s Gospel where Jesus interacts with various individuals leading up to His trial, crucifixion, and resurrection. We are calling this series “Face to Face with Jesus.” We will also be taking time during each service to read several passages of Scripture from both testaments that further inform us about the redemptive significance of these various interactions between Jesus and others. Finally, we will be encouraging the congregation to seek to learn more about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. To this end have also added a resource to the bookstall, a book called The Final Days of Jesus, which walks through the Gospels’ description of the last week of Jesus’ life before the crucifixion. In addition to these, Desiring God offers free PDF downloads of the following books: a 50-Day devotional called Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die and a Holy Week devotional called Your Sorrow Will Turn To Joy. These resources will encourage learning and meditation on who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
